Scott urged action before the program expires at the end of 2027, arguing that earlier reauthorization would provide planning certainty for insurance contracts, construction projects, commercial loans and major investments while retaining private insurers’ loss sharing and taxpayer protections. Scott also called for the nominations to advance to the full Senate. Brian Johnson is nominated to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Abby Warren to oversee export administration at the Department of Commerce, Irving Dennis to serve as chief financial officer at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Jeffrey Ledbetter to serve as HUD inspector general.
