The Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) participated as an International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Board member in IOSCO’s 3rd Board Meeting for 2025 in Madrid, contributing to discussions on international capital market regulation and IOSCO’s operational policies and priorities. Agenda items included market movements and significant events affecting capital markets, member-country development guidelines, the use of Supervisory Technology (SupTech) to enhance supervisory efficiency, international standards for digital asset regulation, and tokenization developments across jurisdictions. The meeting also covered retail investor protection, emerging risks and supervisory standards for securities companies, regional regulatory approaches, and IOSCO’s collaboration with other international organizations. Separately, the SEC Secretary-General held bilateral discussions with the Chair of IOSCO’s Asia-Pacific Regional Committee and Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, focusing on investor protection, strengthening regulatory standards, and cooperation frameworks for future product and infrastructure development.
