The Bank of Israel announced that Governor Professor Amir Yaron has appointed Mr. Ofer Golan as Director of the Payment and Settlement Systems Department and a member of the Bank of Israel management, with the appointment taking effect on June 1, 2025. The decision followed interviews with candidates recommended by a search committee chaired by Deputy Governor Andrew Abir and including Director General Shulamit Geri and Maxine Fassberg. The Bank highlighted Golan’s experience across risk management, regulation and payments, including as a partner at KPMG in Israel leading payments, risk management and compliance work for international banks and fintechs, as well as roles at Wix and CAL covering fraud, compliance, regulation and risk management. Yaron also thanked Oded Salomy for leading the department in recent years.
