The Central Bank of Poland released its core inflation indices for August 2025, reporting Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation of 2.9% year on year and core inflation excluding food and energy of 3.2% year on year, down from 3.3% in the previous month. Other core measures also eased: inflation excluding administered (state-controlled) prices fell to 2.5% from 2.7%, inflation excluding the most volatile prices to 3.8% from 3.9%, and the 15% trimmed mean to 3.0% from 3.2%. The bank computes four core indices monthly to help identify underlying inflation sources beyond headline CPI; it highlighted that the food-and-energy-excluding measure is most commonly used because it focuses on prices more responsive to monetary policy, while food and energy are more exposed to weather conditions and global market pricing.
