The Insurance Supervision Institute of Mozambique published an update on its participation as a speaker at the first International Fair for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, held in Maputo on 26 May 2022, focused on the role of insurance and guarantees for MSMEs. Rui Tsevete, Director of Legal Affairs, Communication and Consumer Relations, delivered a presentation on “Insurance and Guarantees” covering the Institute’s mandate and powers, the importance of insurance for MSMEs, the legal regime for insurance contracts, and key product types including business insurance and guarantee insurance. The event also featured contributions from insurance consultant Miguel Jóia and George Mathonse, President of the Mozambique Association of Insurance Brokers, on the benefits of insurance in protecting assets and investments.
