The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan said its chair met representatives of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank PJSC to discuss the next steps for launching Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (Kazakhstan). The talks focused on the organizational and regulatory requirements for obtaining a banking license under Kazakhstan law. The meeting follows earlier agency approvals allowing Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank PJSC to establish the subsidiary, create the entity and become its bank holding company. Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (Kazakhstan) was registered with Kazakhstan's justice authorities on 20 April 2026. ADCB already has a presence in the market through ADCB Islamic Bank, and the new bank plans to develop Islamic financing through an Islamic window mechanism, which the agency said would broaden access to alternative financial instruments.
