The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) announced the appointment of Vu Minh Chau as Director of the SBV’s Department of International Cooperation, confirming his move from Acting Director to the permanent role. The Standing Committee of the SBV Party Committee also appointed him as Secretary of the Party Cell of the Department of International Cooperation for the 2025–2027 term. The decisions were announced at an SBV conference at its headquarters, where Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh formally presented the appointment decision. The SBV highlighted Mr Chau’s performance while serving as Acting Director since October 2025 and set expectations for the department’s delivery of banking-sector foreign affairs and international integration work, including strengthening multilateral external engagement and improving research and strategic advisory capacity.
