The National Bank of Moldova published its unaudited individual balance sheet as at 30 September 2025, reporting total assets of MDL 119,146,137 thousand and total liabilities of MDL 111,381,902 thousand. Capital and reserves, including revaluation differences and profit available for distribution, were MDL 7,764,235 thousand. Foreign currency assets totalled MDL 105,213,977 thousand, led by investment securities of MDL 87,105,157 thousand and cash and short-term placements of MDL 13,978,746 thousand; assets in national currency were MDL 13,932,160 thousand, largely government securities of MDL 12,912,086 thousand. Liabilities included national currency in circulation of MDL 51,968,712 thousand, national-currency balances of the Government of the Republic of Moldova of MDL 15,374,627 thousand and national-currency balances of banks of MDL 17,729,952 thousand; National Bank of Moldova certificates outstanding were MDL 3,348,635 thousand. Total assets and total liabilities were down from MDL 121,725,315 thousand and MDL 112,273,023 thousand respectively at 31 December 2024. Total capital and reserves were MDL 9,558,578 thousand, with the balance sheet also showing a foreign exchange revaluation balance of minus MDL 2,753,773 thousand, a precious metals revaluation difference of MDL 34,338 thousand and profit available for distribution of MDL 925,092 thousand. Under Article 20 of the Law on the National Bank of Moldova No. 548/1995, profit available for distribution is determined and recorded at the end of the financial year, so the interim figure is provided for information only.
