The Jersey Financial Services Commission has issued a fraud warning after becoming aware of scammers impersonating a JFSC employee and contacting businesses with phishing emails. The emails falsely claim the recipient is being contacted about issues identified in an internal review and about the business’s profile and activity, and direct recipients to click a link to access supposed documents via an eFAX delivery service. The JFSC stressed the messages are not connected to the Commission and advised recipients not to respond or click on links or attachments, and to verify any unexpected contact by checking it originates from the official JFSC domain and independently confirming its legitimacy via official channels.
