The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has released its Quarterly Superannuation Performance publication for the June 2025 quarter, reporting that total superannuation assets rose 4.8 per cent over the quarter to AUD 4.3301 trillion as at 30 June 2025, including AUD 3.0395 trillion in APRA-regulated funds. Year on year, total superannuation assets increased 9.8 per cent, with APRA-regulated assets up 11.7 per cent to AUD 3.0395 trillion. Self-managed super fund assets rose 5.5 per cent to AUD 1.0518 trillion, exempt public sector schemes increased 6.9 per cent to AUD 178.8 billion, and life office statutory fund assets grew 4.7 per cent to AUD 60.0 billion. For entities with more than six members, total contributions for the year to June 2025 increased 14.1 per cent to AUD 210.2 billion, comprising employer contributions of AUD 151.1 billion (up 10.1 per cent) and member contributions of AUD 59.1 billion (up 25.8 per cent). Benefit payments rose 12.8 per cent to AUD 132.5 billion, driven by lump sum payments of AUD 73.3 billion (up 14.3 per cent) and pension payments of AUD 59.2 billion (up 11.0 per cent), while net contribution flows increased 13.8 per cent to AUD 70.5 billion.
