The National Bank of Moldova announced it will host a hybrid conference in Chișinău titled “New Technology for Old Markets”, bringing together international experts, policymakers and researchers to discuss the challenges and opportunities of applying emerging technologies in traditional financial markets. The event is organised in partnership with the National Bank of Romania and the Bank of France and is positioned as the first in a series initiated by the National Bank of Moldova to promote knowledge exchange and debate on submitted research. The conference will focus on how innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI) and distributed ledger technology (DLT) could reshape financial infrastructure in emerging economies, with a particular emphasis on the Eastern European context. The agenda will include keynote sessions, policy-focused panels and research presentations, covering topics such as AI for market surveillance and risk management, DLT-based market infrastructure, digital transformation of traditional banking services, cross-border payments and regional financial integration, and open banking and API-based financial services in emerging economies. Research papers must be submitted by 30 June 2025, with acceptance notifications due by 30 July 2025. The conference will take place on 19 September 2025.
