The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported that a Tajikistan delegation including its First Deputy Chairman held meetings with the Islamic Development Bank Group and other regional financiers on the sidelines of the Islamic Development Bank Group Annual Meetings in Algiers (19–22 May 2025), focusing on expanding cooperation in priority sectors and on green economy and digitalisation themes. Discussions with Islamic Development Bank President Dr Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser covered cooperation in energy, industry, agriculture, transport, logistics centres, tourism and banking, with an emphasis on advancing “green economy” approaches and introducing “green” technologies in the context of climate change. Talks with International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) CEO Adib Yahya Al-Aama reviewed implementation of the 2023–2026 framework financing agreement and included a proposal to increase financing for environmentally clean production, textiles and infrastructure, alongside references to trade-finance cooperation and initiatives such as the TCCA+ programme aimed at expanding regional trade in Central Asia. The delegation also met the Saudi Fund for Development to discuss priority projects across energy, agriculture, education and healthcare.
