The National Bank of Ukraine published an update on its special account opened on 24 February 2022 to support Ukraine’s defense forces, reporting that more than UAH 5.9 billion was transferred from the account to defense needs during 2024. Donor inflows in 2024 totalled the equivalent of UAH 16 billion, including over UAH 11 billion in December, bringing the account balance to almost UAH 12.3 billion as of 1 January 2025. Since the full-scale invasion began, more than UAH 50 billion has been credited to the account, including almost UAH 29.4 billion remitted from abroad in multiple foreign currencies. Cumulative disbursements exceeded UAH 38 billion, with the largest allocations going to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (over UAH 23,703 million) and the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection (over UAH 7,336 million), alongside transfers to the National Police (UAH 1,650 million), the National Guard (over UAH 1,561 million), Defence Intelligence (over UAH 1,404 million), the State Border Guard Service (UAH 988 million) and other agencies and military units. The central bank noted that it releases funds only following requests from Armed Forces of Ukraine military units and other Ukrainian military agencies, and that information on the account is updated daily on its website.

The National Bank of Ukraine reported its special account for defense forces received over UAH 16 billion in donor inflows in 2024, with a balance of nearly UAH 12.3 billion as of January 2025. Since the invasion began, more than UAH 50 billion has been credited, with significant disbursements to the Ministry of Defense and other military agencies. Funds are released upon request from military units, with daily updates on the bank's website.
