The Portuguese Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority announced that the Bank of Portugal, the Portuguese Securities Market Commission, the Portuguese Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority and the Directorate General for Consumers have signed a cooperation protocol to implement the regime for preventing and combating unauthorised financial activity and protecting consumers under Law No. 78/2021, setting mechanisms for information exchange, coordination in administrative offence proceedings within the Directorate General for Consumers’ remit and cooperation in investigating those cases, with the aim of improving the response to unauthorised financial activity and related illegal advertising.

The Portuguese Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority announced that the Bank of Portugal, the Portuguese Securities Market Commission, the Portuguese Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority and the Directorate General for Consumers have signed a cooperation protocol to implement the regime for preventing and combating unauthorised financial activity and protecting consumers under Law No. 78/2021. The protocol establishes mechanisms for information exchange, coordination in administrative offence proceedings and cooperation in investigations to strengthen the response to unauthorised financial activity and related illegal advertising.
