The Eurasian Group published the results of its fourth annual competition for financial institution compliance specialists, held alongside the Fifth International Financial Security Olympiad in Krasnoyarsk. The winning entry came from the National Bank of Egypt for a case titled "Investigation of a money laundering case from hawaladar to fictitious interest through a Ponzi investment scheme." It also received the audience award. The contest featured bank representatives from Belarus, India, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, who presented financial analyses of suspicious client activity linked to the laundering of criminal proceeds. Egypt joined the competition for the first time through the National Bank of Egypt, invited as a contestant by the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force as an observer of the Eurasian Group. The judging panel also selected entries from banks in Russia and Tajikistan as laureates. The winner and laureates will present their materials and receive awards at the upcoming Eurasian Group plenary meeting in November in Minsk, Belarus.

The Eurasian Group published the results of its fourth annual competition for financial institution compliance specialists. The National Bank of Egypt won with a money laundering case study involving a hawaladar, fictitious interest and a Ponzi investment scheme, while entries from Russia and Tajikistan were named laureates.
