The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) took part in the Ministry of Education’s first meeting for the Consciência e Ação programme and confirmed it will sit on the initiative’s Strategic Committee, linking the programme to work under Brazil’s National Strategy for Financial Education (ENEF). SUSEP also used the event to outline how the Brazilian Financial Education Forum (FBEF), which it currently chairs, can use the programme to help deliver financial education through the school system. Consciência e Ação is presented as a public policy for financial, fiscal, pension and insurance education aimed at basic education students, intended to build learners’ capacity to understand economic interactions and make autonomous, informed decisions. Implementation will be led by the Ministry of Education in coordination with states, the Federal District and municipalities, and the Strategic Committee will include a wide set of public authorities and institutions, including the Central Bank of Brazil and the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission. SUSEP also highlighted the 12th National Financial Education Week (Semana ENEF), scheduled for 12 to 18 May 2025, focused on financial education for children and young people. The FBEF organises the annual event, with SUSEP chairing the forum from June 2024 to June 2026, and institutions across sectors are invited to contribute activities.
