The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan has announced that a “Unified Electronic Insurance System” will start operating in Tajikistan from 22 October 2025, with the stated aim of digitising and integrating insurance processes to improve transparency, oversight and consumer protection. The system will allow vehicle owners and drivers to check whether a compulsory civil liability motor insurance policy is recorded via the central bank’s insurance portal using the vehicle’s state registration number. Because some valid policies may not initially appear due to technical issues, the central bank has put in place a Telegram-based process for submitting policy images for onward transmission to insurers and entry into the system within 10 days, and it has indicated that no fines will be applied until all active policies have been fully uploaded.
