The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo reported that it participated for the first time in the Annual Meeting of the International Financial Consumer Protection Organisation (FinCoNet), following its admission as an Associate Member in April 2025. The delegation was led by Deputy Governor for General Functions Nesrin Shileku Shala and the Director of the Consumer Protection Department, Suzan Dervari. The meeting covered strengthening market conduct supervision and enforcement to prevent consumer harm, implementation of the G20/OECD Principles on Financial Consumer Protection alongside capacity building, digitalisation and risks linked to artificial intelligence, prevention of fraud and high-risk financial schemes, and the role of consumer engagement and financial education in improving transparency and supervisory effectiveness. The central bank linked this engagement to its 2024–2028 Strategic Plan priorities, including enhanced supervisory capacity, improved complaints handling, greater transparency, and easier access to financial services.
