The North Macedonia Insurance Supervision Authority published a notice on a three-day workshop it organized with International Balkan University on the importance of insurance from theory to regulatory practice. The workshop was designed to give students a more detailed understanding of the role of insurance in modern society and of how the insurance regulatory and supervisory system operates. Through interactive lectures, practical examples and discussions with representatives of the authority, participants covered basic insurance principles, the regulator’s role in supporting a stable, secure and transparent market, and supervisory mechanisms for protecting policyholders’ interests. The programme also focused on risk management, risk identification and assessment, insurance as a tool for financial protection for citizens and companies, and policyholders’ rights and obligations, including informed contracting, timely fulfilment of contractual obligations, fair treatment, transparency and timely claims payment.
