The Central Bank of Montenegro said it hosted a delegation of 30 young professionals from the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on a study visit focused on Montenegro’s institutional framework, economic development and European integration. During the visit, Governor Irena Radović presented the central bank’s main responsibilities and the reforms linked to Montenegro’s preparation for future membership of the European Union, the European System of Central Banks and the Eurosystem. The programme covered the central bank’s role in the European integration process, Montenegro’s monetary framework, current macroeconomic developments, payment infrastructure modernisation, the euro convergence process, its role as fiscal agent and its financial education activities. Radović also pointed to cooperation with De Nederlandsche Bank, including support for the Needs Assessment Project related to future membership of the European System of Central Banks and the Eurosystem.
