Argentina Superintendency of Insurance reported that Chamber E of Argentina’s National Commercial Court of Appeals has upheld the regulator’s decision to revoke TPC Compañía de Seguros S.A.’s authorisation to operate as an insurer, order its dissolution and liquidation, and prohibit it from carrying out acts of administration and disposal. In SUPERINTENDENCIA DE SEGUROS DE LA NACIÓN v TPC COMPAÑÍA DE SEGUROS S.A. s/ORGANISMOS EXTERNOS, the court rejected TPC’s appeal, finding that the irregularities cited by the Superintendency were duly proven, that subsequent financial statements did not show improvement, and that the regulator acted within its legal powers and with sufficient reasoning.
