The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has appointed Birgit Puck of Austria’s Financial Market Authority (Finanzmarktaufsicht, FMA) as Chair of its Markets Standing Committee. The election was held at ESMA’s Board of Supervisors meeting on 11 February 2025. ESMA’s Standing Committees are expert groups drawn from ESMA staff and national competent authorities for securities markets regulation in EU Member States, and are responsible for policy development in their respective areas.
