The State Bank of Vietnam held a working meeting between Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dung and Visa Asia Pacific Chair Stephen Karpin to discuss opportunities for Visa to support cooperation with the central bank in advancing financial inclusion and accelerating cashless payments. The discussion referenced ongoing collaboration and information-sharing on payments system development, anti-money laundering, system safety and security, and the use of artificial intelligence in payment activities. SBV invited Visa to continue sharing international experience on policy, implementation approaches and risk-mitigation options as banking technology becomes more integrated into everyday services, while Visa indicated it wants to continue working with SBV to expand financial inclusion and support innovation and payment security in Vietnam.
