Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority welcomes new entrant Suma JKT Life Insurance at Dar es Salaam launch

The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) participated in the launch of Suma JKT Life Insurance in Dar es Salaam, where Tanzania’s Insurance Commissioner, Dr Baghayo Saqware, congratulated the organisers and formally welcomed the new life insurer into the market. In his remarks, Saqware called on the company to operate with professionalism, trust, integrity and strong customer care, and to focus on innovation in line with a sector growing at 5%; he also indicated regulatory cooperation in supporting the firm’s operations. The Association of Tanzania Insurers chair, Flora Minja, offered industry support, while Chief of Defence Forces General Jacob J. Mkunda, the guest of honour, thanked TIRA for its cooperation in the company’s registration and linked the initiative to Suma JKT’s contribution to the national economy.
