The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) announced cooperation with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation to integrate accident-prevention measures and insurance-related support for the Songkran 2025 holiday travel period under the campaign theme “Safe driving, Thailand without accidents”. OIC participated in the opening of the Songkran Road Accident Prevention and Reduction Operations Center and joined coordination meetings with relevant partners, including provincial governors via online link. As a member of the Road Safety Operations Center committee, the commission instructed its regional and provincial offices nationwide to take part in public outreach and to facilitate insurance services during the seven-day intensive control period from 11 to 17 April 2025, with OIC staff deployed to checkpoint centres across the country. The commission also stated it would provide 24-hour insurance advice during the 11 to 17 April period and encouraged travellers to ensure appropriate travel and personal accident cover and to verify the validity and expiry of compulsory motor insurance, alongside any voluntary motor policies.
