The Central Bank of Paraguay reported that it hosted two international insurance supervision meetings from Sept. 15 to 18, bringing together regulators, international organizations and industry representatives. The International Association of Insurance Supervisors Financial Inclusion Forum, held in Paraguay for the first time, focused on financial inclusion, social resilience, digital innovation and insurance market development. A regional training seminar organized with the Association of Latin American Insurance Supervisors and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors addressed risk based supervision, corporate governance, solvency, data quality and emerging risks, including technology, artificial intelligence, climate and catastrophic events. Superintendent of Insurance Jazmín Bernal said Paraguay is modernizing its regulatory framework to align with international standards.
