The Bank of Italy published an analysis of the 2025 Jubilee’s impact on inbound tourism, based on its Survey on International Tourism. Nearly 1.4 million overnight visitors came to Italy primarily for the Jubilee, accounting for 2.2% of all overnight international visitors. They spent EUR 1.6 billion, or 3% of total spending by such visitors and about two-thirds of the increase from 2024. A further 2.2 million travelers participated in Jubilee activities but would have visited Italy regardless. Together, the two groups represented 5.8% of overnight international visitors and spent EUR 4 billion, equivalent to 7.4% of total spending. Jubilee-motivated travelers stayed longer and spent more per person and per day than other overnight visitors. The impact was concentrated in Lazio, where overnight visitor numbers rose 23% and spending increased 19.2%. Jubilee-motivated travelers accounted for 45% of the region’s visitor growth and 58% of its spending growth.
