The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) has scheduled a hearing for Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. to consider two administrative enforcement cases concerning alleged unauthorized portfolio management and noncompliance with continuing professional education requirements. The cases concern Rodrigo Xavier Teles and R&M Auditores Independentes e Consultores S/S, respectively. The case against Teles examines whether he conducted professional securities portfolio management without prior CVM authorization. The case against R&M concerns alleged noncompliance with the Continuing Professional Education Program. The session will be open to the public at CVM headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, with access also available by videoconference. If neither the accused parties nor their appointed representatives indicate an intention to participate, the cases will instead be decided through restricted electronic voting.
