The Central Bank of Egypt hosted a five-day delegation of planning and management experts from the Bank of Tanzania under its expertise-exchange programme, focused on business continuity management (BCM) and crisis management and how these practices support the continuity of banking functions during disruptions. The programme included a field tour of alternative sites and discussion sessions on operational challenges, BCM strategies, and building continuity capabilities, with emphasis on the role of senior management support. The Central Bank of Egypt also highlighted its ISO 22301 certification and its readiness to share experience in business continuity and risk management with specialists from African central banks. The visit was positioned as part of an ongoing series of specialised missions from African central banks to the Central Bank of Egypt, covering other technical areas including cybersecurity, payment systems and banking supervision.
