The European Central Bank published its October 2026 Survey of Monetary Analysts questionnaire, seeking expectations for euro area monetary policy, financial markets and macroeconomic conditions through 2029 and over the long run. The survey covers expected policy rates, potential changes in the deposit facility rate at the October and December 2026 Governing Council meetings, sovereign bond yields and the euro short term rate based overnight index swap rate. Analysts are also asked to project the Eurosystem’s holdings under the asset purchase programme and pandemic emergency purchase programme, assess the probability of the Transmission Protection Instrument being activated and forecast outstanding refinancing operations. Macroeconomic questions cover growth, unemployment, headline and underlying inflation, the output gap, long run inflation probabilities and risks to the growth and inflation outlook. The document is a questionnaire and does not provide aggregated survey results.
