Hong Kong Precious Metals Central Clearing Limited appointed Bryan Chan Ping-keung as its inaugural chief executive officer for a three-year term beginning Oct. 2, 2026. He will oversee the operation and development of Hong Kong’s central clearing and settlement system for gold, which is scheduled to launch officially in the first quarter of 2027. The government-owned company will provide clearing and settlement services for over-the-counter gold transactions and work with refiners, financial institutions and the government to develop a gold trading ecosystem that meets international standards. Chan previously held financial services policy roles in the Hong Kong government and senior market positions at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited.
