The State Bank of Pakistan has directed all commercial banks, including National Bank of Pakistan branches handling customs collection, to keep their Saturday-opening branches open from 09:00 to 13:00 on 28 February 2026 to facilitate over-the-counter payments of government duties and taxes, following a request from the Federal Board of Revenue. Banks have been advised to keep relevant branches open for as long as needed to support the Special Clearing for government transactions conducted by NIFT, and to ensure uninterrupted availability of internet banking, mobile applications, ATMs, and other digital platforms for online payment of duties and taxes.

Banks must also ensure continuous availability of digital platforms for online payments and support Special Clearing for government transactions by NIFT.
