The Algeria Market Authority, in collaboration with the University of Algiers 3, held a student workshop during World Investor Week to promote financial literacy and awareness of investment issues. The session explained Algeria’s financial market ecosystem, including the authority’s regulatory and supervisory role and the functions of the Algiers Stock Exchange, Algeria Clearing and securities intermediaries. The workshop also covered crowdfunding as a financing mechanism for projects and businesses, alongside the forms of financial fraud and measures investors can take to protect themselves. Participants included the Algiers Stock Exchange, central securities depository Algeria Clearing, CNEP-Bank as a securities intermediary and Yinvesty as a crowdfunding investment adviser.
