The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) has implemented temporary measures to help Ontario insurers manage a high volume of insurance claims following the recent ice storm affecting central and eastern Ontario, including Orillia and Peterborough. Under the measures, Ontario insurers may use employees of affiliated insurers, and licensed adjusting firms may use claims adjusters licensed outside Ontario. The measures remain in effect until 4 July 2025.
