The Bank of Uganda has published a recruitment notice for one Buildings Maintenance Services Quantity Surveyor position in its Administrative Services department. The role sits at rank SBOII and reports to the Team Leader for Real Estate Services. Its core mandate is to prepare and review bills of quantities and cost estimates for building maintenance, repairs, minor refurbishment and proposed construction works, while supporting value for money, budget control and contractual compliance across the bank’s facilities. The position also covers tender and contract management, verification of contractor payment requests, tracking of maintenance spending against annual budgets, site measurement and valuation, and supervision of maintenance and construction works. Duties include valuing houses for staff building loan applications and ensuring works comply with building code, fire safety, Ministry of Health infrastructure standards and occupational safety and health requirements. Applicants must hold a first class or upper second class degree in quantity surveying, construction economics or building economics, be professionally registered with the Institution of Surveyors of Uganda and the Surveyors Registration Board of Uganda, and have at least five years of relevant experience. A master’s degree and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors membership are listed as advantages. Applications close on Friday 26 June 2026.
