The New Zealand Financial Markets Authority has secured a High Court order placing 23 additional Chance Voight group entities into liquidation. The court found that entities with bank accounts were insolvent and unable to pay debts as they fell due, while liquidating inactive entities was just and equitable because they could not realistically be separated from the wider group. The order follows the earlier liquidation of the group’s parent company and five related companies. John Fisk, Lara Bennett and Malcolm Hollis have been appointed liquidators of all group entities, bringing them under one process to protect investors and creditors and improve the efficiency of the liquidation. The authority’s investigation into the group and associated parties remains underway.
