Argentina’s Superintendency of Insurance (SSN) marked Insurance Day with a religious ceremony in Buenos Aires and a tribute to Manuel Belgrano’s pioneering role in the country’s insurance sector. Superintendent of Insurance Guillermo Plate attended alongside SSN officials and employees, public officials and representatives of insurance companies and industry associations. The ceremony took place at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary and Convent of Santo Domingo, followed by a floral offering at Belgrano’s mausoleum. Insurance Day commemorates the First Triumvirate’s initiative to promote maritime insurance, a milestone in the origins of Argentina’s insurance industry. The annual observance was established in 1944.
