UNDP’s Sustainable Insurance Forum (SIF), the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and KPMG have launched NATURE-INSURE, a global capacity-building programme designed to strengthen insurance supervisors’ responses to nature-related financial risks linked to biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation. The NATURE-INSURE series is intended to help supervisors better understand how nature loss can affect insurance markets, introduce practical tools including TNFD’s LEAP approach, and showcase how supervisors and insurers are applying nature-related tools, data and metrics in practice. It also covers global disclosure frameworks and emerging supervisory practices from different jurisdictions, with an emphasis on enhancing supervisory capabilities and awareness of international biodiversity and sustainability goals.
