The National Bank of Moldova reported that cash disbursements from banks exceeded cash receipts by MDL 20 million in August 2026. Banks received MDL 16.988 billion in cash, broadly unchanged from a year earlier, while disbursements fell 2% to MDL 17.008 billion. Receipts from consumer goods sales rose 1.7% to MDL 10.446 billion and accounted for 61.5% of total cash receipts.
