Bank of Indonesia announced that it and Bank Negara Malaysia have signed a new memorandum of understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two central banks. The agreement sets a broader framework for collaboration across central banking functions, covering both established areas of work and additional areas of mutual interest. The memorandum includes cooperation on monetary policy, financial stability and macroprudential policy, payment systems and digitalisation, financial sector development, capacity-building initiatives and information sharing, as well as other agreed areas. The release presents the arrangement as the basis for continued bilateral cooperation between the two institutions.
