De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) has announced that Marije Louisse will become General Counsel and Head of Legal Services on 1 May 2026, succeeding Frits-Joost Beekhoven van den Boezem. Louisse has worked at DNB since April 2023 as Head of the Supervision – Advice Department in the Legal Services Division, having previously served as a senior legal counsel at the central bank. Before joining DNB, she was a banking and finance lawyer at Loyens & Loeff in Amsterdam, and she holds a PhD focused on the public financing of failing banks in the European Union. Alongside her DNB role, she is a lecturer at Grotius Academy and a fellow at Radboud University’s Institute for Financial Law and the European Banking Institute’s Associate Researchers Group.

De Nederlandsche Bank has appointed Marije Louisse as General Counsel and Head of Legal Services with effect from 1 May 2026, succeeding Frits-Joost Beekhoven van den Boezem. Louisse currently heads the Supervision – Advice Department in DNB’s Legal Services Division and has prior experience as a banking and finance lawyer and academic in financial law and bank resolution.
