The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan published consumer guidance on credit histories, including how they are formed, how lenders use them when assessing new credit applications, and how individuals can check and correct their records. The agency highlighted that every citizen can obtain one personal credit report free of charge per calendar year, while repeat requests in the same year are paid. Reports can be obtained via the First Credit Bureau’s website or mobile app, the eGov.kz portal, Public Service Centres and Kazpost branches, the First Credit Bureau office, or the State Credit Bureau. Where a report contains inaccurate data such as an alleged payment delay on a repaid loan, consumers are directed to contact the relevant bank or microfinance organisation and support the complaint with documents, or to submit a dispute via Fingramota.kz through a dedicated form requiring an Individual Identification Number and phone number, as part of a project implemented jointly with the First Credit Bureau. The agency also recommended enabling the “Credit history monitoring” service via eGov.kz or the First Credit Bureau’s digital channels to receive notifications about changes such as new borrowing, payment delays, or changes in outstanding debt.
