The Central Bank of Estonia’s Supervisory Board confirmed Martti Randveer as Deputy Governor, appointing the current head of the Economics and Research Department to a five-year term starting 7 June. The change coincides with a leadership transition in which current Deputy Governor Ülo Kaasik will become Governor when Madis Müller’s term ends on 6 June. From 7 June, the Executive Board will comprise Governor Ülo Kaasik alongside Deputy Governors Martti Randveer and Andrus Alber, who took up the deputy role in January and remains a member of the Executive Board. The Governor serves a seven-year term, while Deputy Governors serve five-year terms. Randveer has worked at the central bank since 1996, has led the Economics and Research Department since July 2011, and has been a member of the Estonian Fiscal Council since 2014.
