The Dubai International Financial Centre announced that Positron AI Ltd, a US developer of specialised AI inference infrastructure, has established its first presence outside the United States through a DIFC licence. The move adds an AI inference provider to the Dubai AI Campus ecosystem at a time when real-world deployment of AI models is becoming a larger driver of global compute demand. Positron has raised more than USD 300 million, including a USD 230 million Series B round, deployed inference technology with a US hyperscaler, and reached unicorn status. Its infrastructure is positioned as an alternative to GPU-based systems by targeting lower cost per token, higher memory density and improved energy efficiency. The company said its Atlas server supports LLM inference for small and medium-sized models of up to 500 billion active parameters, while its next-generation Titan product is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2027. Following the DIFC launch, Positron plans to open offices in other locations across the region.
