The Monetary Authority of Singapore and the People’s Bank of China convened the fourth annual Singapore-China Green Finance Taskforce meeting, advancing joint work on sustainable finance. More than 50 regulatory and industry participants discussed extending taxonomy interoperability beyond green activities to transition activities, encouraging green panda bond issuance and using technology to support sustainable financing. The work forms part of broader bilateral financial cooperation that includes green finance and cross-border financing. Participants also explored biodiversity credits, climate resilience insurance and greater cross-border carbon market connectivity. An industry roundtable focused on climate-resilient infrastructure, including managing physical climate risks and developing viable revenue models that can attract commercial financing for adaptation and resilience projects. The discussions also considered using insurance in blended finance structures to mobilize private capital.
