Senate Banking Committee Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren criticized NVIDIA President and CEO Jensen Huang for declining to testify at the committee’s June 11 artificial intelligence hearing while meeting privately with Republican senators. She called for Huang to answer public questions about NVIDIA’s position on exporting advanced AI chips to China and whether he has lobbied senators against bipartisan measures intended to prevent such chips from reaching China’s military. Warren previously criticized Huang following a closed-door meeting with Republican senators in December, alleging that he had lobbied against the bipartisan GAIN AI Act and supported federal preemption of state AI protections. She had invited him to the June hearing to explain NVIDIA’s views on U.S. export controls and its business dealings in China.
