The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) announced new appointments and reappointments across nine committees, with membership changes taking effect from 1 April 2025. The updates cover the Academic and Accreditation Advisory Committee, Committee on Real Estate Investment Trusts, Disciplinary Chair Committee, Nominations Committee, Public Shareholders Group, SFC (HKEC Listing) Committee, Share Registrars’ Disciplinary Committee, Takeovers and Mergers Panel and Takeovers Appeal Committee. New appointments include Prof Chan Chun Kwong and Dr Cheng Wui Wing Andy to the Academic and Accreditation Advisory Committee, Chiu Kam Kuen (KK Chiu), Wong Pui Ling Pauline and Yang Yong Fang to the Committee on Real Estate Investment Trusts, Keith Pogson to the Nominations Committee, Ho Clara, Ong Payton Pei-De and Yung Chun Hing to the Public Shareholders Group, Charles George Rupert Nixon to the SFC (HKEC Listing) Committee, and Dr Wong Hung Nam to both the Takeovers and Mergers Panel and the Takeovers Appeal Committee. Reappointments include Prof Choi Darwin, Jeckle Chiu as Chairman and Tsui Kam Yip Alison as Deputy Chairman of the Share Registrars’ Disciplinary Committee, and Chan Yuk Sing Freeman as Chairman of the Takeovers and Mergers Panel. Outgoing members listed include Dr Chan Fung Cheung Wilson, Prof Chan Wing Ho Alex, Lau Ka Shi Betsy, Lu Ming, Wong Sing Ming (Rita Wong), Rachel Lam Yan Kay, SC, Dr Wong Tin Yau Kelvin, SBS, JP, Chan Kwok King Kingsley, Mo Yuen Man Anita, Wei Zhen, Matthew Calvert Emsley, David Michael Webb and Leung Po Wah Pauline, with Leung’s appointment noted as having ended on 4 December 2024.
