The National Bank of Georgia reported that Governor Natia Turnava and Georgia’s Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili, met with a visiting delegation of US and UK investors invited by the central bank, to discuss Georgia’s macroeconomic outlook, monetary and fiscal policy settings, and the investment climate. The delegation included institutions such as JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Aberdeen, and MetLife. Discussions covered banking sector conditions, with the Georgian banking sector described as well-capitalized with strong liquidity, as well as the development of the domestic corporate securities market and related investment opportunities; Turnava noted that investors were exploring capital-market routes to invest in Georgia and linked its investment appeal to manageable inflation and strong macroeconomic indicators.
