The Bank of Greece reported that weighted average interest rates on new euro-denominated deposits and loans were broadly unchanged in July 2026 at 0.39% and 4.67%, respectively. The spread between new deposit and loan rates remained at 4.28 percentage points. For outstanding balances, the average deposit rate was broadly stable at 0.37%, while the average loan rate rose by 7 basis points to 4.81%, widening the spread to 4.44 percentage points. Among new business, household deposits with maturities of up to one year rose to 1.24%, while equivalent corporate deposit rates increased to 2.02%. Floating-rate housing loans remained broadly unchanged at 3.53%, defined-maturity corporate loans were stable at 4.21%, and equivalent lending to small and medium-sized enterprises fell to 4.45%. Rates on outstanding housing, consumer and corporate loans all increased.
