The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority has updated its public warning originally issued on 16 April 2025 after becoming aware of another seemingly linked bogus website, www.fairbairnpvt.com, connected to fairbairnpvt.com. The site claims to represent Fairbairn Private Bank (IOM) Limited, uses an Isle of Man address, and purports to offer products including banking and virtual currency services. The Authority highlights indicators that the site is not genuine, including a telephone number that is not issued by an Isle of Man telecommunications provider and multiple typographical errors. It has not been able to establish any association between the site and any genuine Isle of Man companies or businesses, and the occupiers of the stated address have confirmed no connection with the website or its offerings. The Authority also notes that providing the advertised services in or from the Isle of Man would require licensing or registration, and that Fairbairn Private Wealth (IOM) Limited is not licensed or registered. The Authority warns that users accessing the site may be exposed to fraud or attempted identity theft, and advises those already dealing with the website to consider notifying their local police. It also directs anyone concerned about potential unlicensed regulated activity in or from the Isle of Man to seek advice from its Enforcement Division.
